In King Khalid University's 20th graduation ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, congratulated King Khalid University students on graduating, wishing them great success in their future endeavors to contribute to the growth of our country. His Royal Highness sponsored the ceremony in the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Mahalah.
Upon his arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by His Excellency Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, the University Rector, a number of high-profile officials from the Asir region, and the University Council. The ceremony was opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran and a procession of graduating students.
In his speech, Rector Al-Solamy welcomed His Royal Highness, honored guests, and parents of students; he followed by saying: "we at King Khalid University will remember this night as a remarkable night for it is a night of achievement, you are fortunate to have a Nobel Prince and a country you can call home, so congratulations on what you have achieved and the honor you have brought to your families, the University, and the country." He concluded his opening statement by asking Allah to protect and endure the success and safety of our country, our King, and our Crown Prince. Rector Al-Solamy then directed a powerful message to the graduates saying: "Our country has provided all the needs for our students, and it is now your turn to dedicate yourselves to our country, for you are the future. Know that our enemies are expanding, so unite together against those envious of us because we are fortunate to have a country, unlike any other country that boasts a wise, youthful leadership."
The Rector concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid, who continues to care for and support the University on all occasions. After that, the audience watched a short film entitled "The Helmet Story." This highly acclaimed student success story from the College of Engineering highlighted the grave difficulties the student encountered, the burning ambition, and will to succeed he possessed during his journey.
Al-Solamy: Know that our enemies are expanding, so unite together against those envious us
In his speech, the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Abdul-Mohsen Al-Qarni, announced the overall result of this year's graduation statistics which included 14,047 students from various degrees, colleges and specialties; he then specified that 49 students were from doctoral programs, 241 from master's programs, 12,095 from bachelor's degree programs, and 1,662 from diploma programs.
Dean Al-Qarni concluded his speech with three messages: (i) reminding the students on what their parents have done for them and how they should care for them and reward them, (ii) their loyalty to the University which has provided the best programs and worked towards accreditation and development to ensure they receive the best education, and (iii) their role in achieving Vision 2030.
At the end of the program, the graduates presented a recital entitled "Land of Goodness", after which the Rector presented a commemorative appreciation plaque to the Ceremony's Sponsor. The ceremony ended with His Royal Highness announcing the graduation of the University's 20th class alongside photo ops with students.
