On Tuesday 3/2/2015 AD, King Khalid University, represented by the Faculty of Medicine participated in the exhibition and events of the 7th Medical Profession Day. The exhibition was organized by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Taif, and it was held over three days. The venue was the celebrations Hall of the Intercontinental Hotel in Taif. The forum's aim was to inform the students of faculties of Medicine and recently-graduated doctors in the Kingdom about the recruitment opportunities available to them, plus selection of medical specialties that are appropriate for their rehabilitation, inclinations and aspirations. Moreover, the forum intended to show the opportunities for available postgraduate and clinical training in order to qualify them academically and professionally, whether inside or outside the Kingdom.

The delegation of the University consisted of nine students, who presented the vision, mission and goals of faculty of Medicine of King Khalid University. The visitors also watched a presentation about the university hospital in the University City, Al Farah, which is actually qualified to serve all medical specialties with a capacity of 800 beds.  The delegation participated in a workshop entitled "How do you choose a medical specialty?".

 It is noteworthy that the activities of Profession Day witnessed the participation of a number consultants from within and outside the Kingdom. They gave a number of lectures and specialized training courses, which included a number of diverse themes related to the medical field and job skills. In addition, many Saudi universities, hospitals and health sectors participated in the events, and offered job opportunities available in their agencies.

King Khalid University: participation in the "Profession Day" in America supports development in our country

Under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Angari, and the Saudi Ambassador in America, Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington organized the Profession Day Exhibition, which was accompanying the graduation ceremony of the seventh group of King Abdullah's program for Scholarship in America.

King Khalid University participated in this exhibition as the gold sponsor. The meeting with students of scholarships held over four days, the first three days were for the meetings among the graduates, and participated universities and institutions, as the fourth day was to conduct personal interviews to those who pre-selected. The exhibition has witnessed large attendances of graduates, scholars, and employers, both public and private.

In this regard, the Vice-President of the University, Marae Bin Hussein Al-Qahtani clarified that there are 300 applicant scholars applied for King Khalid University in the exhibition, only 208 of them will be employed, including 158 jobs as Assistant Professor, 50 lecturers and teachers in the disciplines of scholarship, including medical science, Health Science, Engineering, Computer Science, the Basic Sciences, Legal Sciences, Management and Languages.

Al-Qahtani also added that the university participated in the Profession Day to provide job opportunities for students of scholarship, and attract talent and rare specialties in the Medicine field, so as to support development project in the Kingdom.

King Khalid University participated in "Profession Day Exhibition", which a accompanied the graduation ceremony of the seventh Group of King Abdullah's program for Scholarship in America. The exhibition took place on Saturday, 25 Rajab, 1435 AH, and will be hold over till the 28th of the same month.

The Saudi Cultural Mission in America is organizing the exhibition annually, in which a number of government and private bodies will participate, such as ministries, universities, and, colleges, specialized research centers, companies, and banks. The Profession Day aimed at attracting graduates of all stages of Higher Education, Bachelor, Master's, and PhD.

 In this regard, The President of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawood clarified that the university will present in the exhibition 208 vacancies, including 158 jobs as Assistant Professor, 50 lecturers and teachers in the disciplines of scholarship, including medical science, Health Science, Engineering, Computer Science, the Basic Sciences, Legal Sciences, Management and Languages.

Al-Dawood mentioned that this exhibition is an indication of the state's interest in providing the best career opportunities for national competence that are trained and qualified academically and scientifically with high-level to participate in the service of the development process led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God preserve him -.

 He added that the university's participation in the " Exhibition of Profession Day" emphasizes its quest to attract the graduates of the program of King Abdullah for Scholarship to work in it and "contribute to the recruitment of the talented of this program, which allowed the universities a great opportunity to localize their academic jobs and occupy them with the children of our dear country. Those scholars achieved the aspirations of our wise leadership and confirmed its aspirations that they will return to their country and has been armed with science and knowledge."

Al- Dawood conclude his speech thanking the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and the Crown Prince and Crown Deputy – may Allah protects them -, for their ongoing support to their student children(male and female) in the Higher Education stage regarding scholarship program. This program absorbed large numbers of students who will return to contribute to the advancement and welfare of our country.

He also thanked the Minister of Higher Education and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education for what the Ministry is doing to oversee scholars and motivate them to provide the best levels of achievement the is expected from them.

In this regard, the Vice-President of the University, the Head of the participant Delegation, Prof. Marea Bin Hussein Al-Qahtani praised the program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of the scholarship, stressing that it contributes to make the citizen of our country capable of moving forward towards achieving the desired goals, in addition to the development of the Kingdom in various fields. Regarding the Graduation Day, he said, "The graduation of the Seventh group of the program reflects our wishes and aspirations, as citizens, as well as the wise leadership of students' excel and obtaining cognitive and cultural uniqueness, and soon their involvement in the process of construction and modernization, and to contribute to the overall development."

He continued, "This is what makes the university keen to attract a number of those graduates whom the University is proud of. The University seeks to offer a number of academic jobs that will contribute, God willing, in pushing academic work at the university."

In the same context, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Abdullah Asiri said that the "Profession Day" is the bridge between the academic life for scholar students and career when involving in the labor market and provide it with qualified and trained national competencies that have the greatest impact in advancing the development and progress of the nation.
