The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdullah Saeed Al-Asiri has stressed on the importance of the integration of modern methodologies with the construction of up-to-date curricula. He pointed out that we should depend on a qualified teaching staff, which possesses advanced skills so that they can increase the level of university students. In addition, the University should seek to benefit from the latest educational technologies in the Higher Education.

This was stated when the Faculty of Medicine of King Khalid University, represented by the Department of Medical Education, arranged a workshop entitled "standard preparation for examinations". The workshop which was held for over three hours, was attended by 35 faculty members. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the modern medical education methods, and how it could be applied to the students of Medicine College.

Dr. Al-Asiri indicated that the university is establishing such workshops to raise the capacity of the Faculty members, to improve their performance, and to implement the study plans that emerge from the curriculum. He confirmed the university's objective of achieving the pillars of qualitative education, which of course centered around the student, the teacher and the learning environment in addition to the curriculum. He added, "Towards this purpose, we have to prepare consecutive workshops that definitely raise and improve the quality of performance.

The workshop which was attended by Dr. Omar Al-Faki, and Dr. Karim Al-Deen, was moderated by the President of the Department of Medical Education, Dr Abdul Aziz Al-Omari.

Towards expansion and information services development,

Library Affairs at King Khalid University established two libraries in Medicine and Sharia Colleges.

The Deanship of Library Affairs at King Khalid University announced that it is about to establish new libraries. Supervision on those libraries will be within the objectives and the plans of the Deanship towards expansion and development of information and knowledge services directed to the beneficiaries in the fields of Medicine and Sharia.

The Dean of Library Affairs at the University, Dr. Saeed Bin Qasim Al-Khalidi clarified that work is going on to establish two libraries. The first is the Medical library for the Colleges of Medicine and Health Specialties, and its headquarter will be at the College of Medicine at the University City in Abha. The second library is the Modern Library in Sharia and Religion Fundamentals College and the Graduate Studies Center for Girls at Lassan.

Al-Khalidi explained that this step comes for the development of various sources of knowledge for all university employees and staff, with the support for the University Libraries from the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawoud.

Medicine College , King Khalid University discuss developments in plastic surgery

Medicine College at King Khalid University arranged a seminar entitled " developments in plastic surgery ," presented by member of the teaching staff , Dr. Hassan Bin Hussein Al -Ajmi in which he talked about surgery operations " cranial " noting it was one of the distinguished subspecialty in cosmetic surgery and reconstruction of the skull , face and jaws and has witnessed tremendous developments during the past decade.

Dr. Ajami also emphasis on the origins of the cranial surgery that depend on the experience of the surgeons in correcting severe injuries during the First World War , and it has become in the present unique and desirable globally , and using the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery and surgery correct changes and congenital malformations .

Dr. Al-Ajmi explained Medicine College at King Khalid University is seeking, in cooperation with area hospitals, to create a therapeutic integrated surgery cranial unit and medical collaborator team including all relevant medical specialties , because the existence of such a unit at King Khalid University puts it in front of the Arab world and the Middle East universities.

That unit will , God willing, in cooperation with the University , " McGill " Canadian in order to exchange experiences and enrich clinical and research cooperation in this field for the benefit of patients .
