King Khalid University (KKU) enjoyed a distinctive coverage in the annual issuance of the QS Organization (Quacquarelli Symonds); an organization which is followed and trusted worldwide. Through its book, the organization has allocated a distinctive area for the university,  as it - the university - represents a positive model for the growth and development of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The University deserved this attention because of its long-term strategic vision, and its contribution to the excellence and welfare of the Saudi society in the scientific side, in addition to activating all areas and walks of life, which aimed at the development of all aspects of the Saudi society.

The Book, which has been recently published by the organization, is considered an important reference in terms of identifying distinguished universities in the world. And it - the book - is being kept  as one of the important references in the most famous and important world's libraries such as the American Library of Congress. It is also distributed to the Top Twenty Summit leaders, including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud - may God protect him.

The international ranking for universities has experienced much attention on the level of different countries because it reflects the efficiency and quality of education in these countries. In the world ranking, each university competes fiercely to show its distinctiveness and academic reputation. Even on the level of employment agencies which seek to choose the best elements of the university graduates, in addition to Individuals' interest to join a distinguished university. Features of this interest and that competition, appeared when many of the universities get out of the International ranking, and others, which were not registered before entered, in addition to the amount of variations in the order of universities from year to year.

In the space allocated to the King Khalid University, the QS book presented an article of the Rector - Prof. Abdul Rahman Hamad Al-Dawood - under the title "King Khalid University, a good model for the growth and development of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" In the article, the Rector talked about the inception of the university in 1999 AD. He mentioned the annexation of King Saud University branch, which was offering comprehensive academic programs, to the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, which was offering Islamic programs and Islamic-related sciences.

The University is a worthwhile example of recent developments in the environment of higher education. 

The Rector further pointed out that during the period 2005 - 2007 AD, the King Khalid University experienced another phase of expansion and annexation by adding 11 girls' faculties, in addition to 5 nursing schools. Coinciding with the annexation processes, the university developed in a short time, a large number of academic programs. Since then, the university has turned into a comprehensive university with programs in engineering, management, education, biological and natural sciences, medical sciences; including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, and social sciences. The Rector also confirmed that "the university is one of the higher institutions of education that is witnessing increased  growth in terms of the number of enrolled students; with more than 70 thousand students". Rector Al-Dawood explained that "the university now, like other Saudi universities, is seeking accreditation from the National Authority for Assessment and Accreditation". Pointing out further that that desire could be achieved through multiple steps, including a detailed study and analysis of the reality of the university in the light of the 11 accreditation standards. Al-Dawood confirmed that "the King Khalid University, based on what has been mentioned above, is a worthwhile example of recent developments in the environment of higher education in the Kingdom. The Rector concluded his article with the current trend of the University; A university of Excellence in the field of education, scientific research and services to the surrounding communities.

King Khalid University (KKU) President Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood has evaluated the high values of the meanings that are contained in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' word, which the Rector considered a proof to the King's passion to the development of the country and nationals.

President Aldawood said that "the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' word manifested love for this country, his interest in the nationals, his commitment to abide by the country's principles and continuation of the process of balanced development. Furthermore, the King's word reflected his increased determination and high vigor to the general development of the nation. Hence, each official in this blessed country bears the responsibility of actualizing the content of King's word, which will definitely add to extra achievements for this generous country.

The Rector added that the King's word included affirmation to unify, renouncing conflict and urging for equal rights. The word included also a commitment to duties and partnership in development, and responsibility for the security and defense of the Arab and Islamic nations' issues. The word was a clear evidence of the commitment of this blessed country to the work done since the era of its founder, King Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may Allah have mercy on him - to this auspicious Covenant. The Rector pointed out that "the King's speech was a clear message to the whole world that our country is thankfully sticking to religious maxims and political bases". He noted that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' confirmation to take care of the citizen; his health, stability, safety, education, residence, and other social requirements for a comfortable life, all touched the needs of citizens and proved to everyone that the leadership is living with them, and is working on finding urgent solutions to all these issues, God willing.

President Aldawood said," we, in the administration, other officials and stakeholders of King Khalid University, take the King's word as a beacon for us, in all of our businesses. "And we will, God willing, be shields for the security of our homeland, and we will give a hand for the construction and development of the nation".

At the conclusion of his statement, His Excellency KKU President prayed to God - the Almighty - to help the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud - His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Deputy Crown, and to enable them to succeed in assisting Islam and Muslims.
